Now we need you, Technical Support team members with a passion for solving technical issues and supporting our customers.

Who are we?
Volvo Autonomous Solutions (VAS) is the business area within Volvo Group that accelerates the development, commercialization, and sales of autonomous solutions. The vision for Volvo Group is to be the most desired and successful transport and infrastructure solution provider in the world. We don’t sell trucks and machines: we operate the solutions through the full life cycle to maximize the improvements achievable through autonomy.

That goes hand in hand with our long-term ambitions: 100% Safe, 100% Fossil free and 100% more productive. The automation of our vehicles is seen as a natural step towards reaching that goal. Joining the Volvo Group means contributing to a large global company that is transforming itself towards these ambitions. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, fostering a team culture where differences are seen as a stepping-stone to better results.

We are unified by diversity, great ideas, and inclusiveness. Our colleagues are the most important part of our story so every member in our team matters and plays a critical role in our journey to success. You will work alongside a talented group of colleagues who respect each other’s differences and seek to understand fresh perspectives.

We are an equal opportunity employer with office locations in Sweden and in the US. Whoever and wherever you are we strive to offer you flexibility and a work-life balance to enable high engagement and fulfillment in both your professional and personal life.

What's the role?
The primary responsibility of this role is to streamline the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks for the Autonomous Transport System (ATS), encompassing truck-specific instructions. This optimization aims to enhance system availability while minimizing costs.

In this role, we’ll need you to dive into performing method studies to optimize servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and inspections. Your keen eye will be crucial in identifying requirements for special tools (hardware/software) to keep everything running smoothly. And don't worry, you won't be tackling this challenge alone! We'll be right there beside you, collaborating closely with technical writers to update service and repair information. Together, we'll ensure we're on the right track by consulting with Technical Support Engineers every step of the way.

But that's not all! As the primary contact point for maintainability-related inquiries, like requirements and Fault Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA) work, you'll play a pivotal role in keeping everything in check.

Furthermore, we're counting on your active participation in Life-Cycle Cost work. We'll need your expertise to propose alternative technical solutions that prioritize the high maintainability of machines, vehicles, and systems. Your input will also be invaluable as we contribute to the initial stock for spare parts to ensure readiness for Customer Implementation Projects (CIPs).

And last but not least, we're looking for someone who can contribute to our continuous improvement process. Your ideas and efforts in enhancing uptime support processes will help us boost overall efficiency. We're excited to have you join our team and make a real impact!

As a member of the team, you contribute to the overall team’s responsibilities. The team is initially based in Sweden and is part of the Transport Systems and Machines/Vehicles team in Volvo Autonomous Solutions’ Technology organization.

Who are you?

You have prior broad experience in a relevant field such as aftermarket or the automotive industry.

Previous experience of Volvo Trucks and/or Volvo Construction Equipment is a merit.

It is very important that you are a team player and can contribute to a great teamwork spirit. We believe you have a natural ability to collaborate in a multicultural company environment, creating strong links between our customers, commercial and technology teams.

What might seem like a challenge to others, is an opportunity for you. If you recognize yourself in this description, you are probably the person we are looking for. We are excited to discover how your contributions could enhance our team!

We are actively working to establish teams that will take maximum advantage of the strength inherent to differences in knowledge, experience, age, gender, and nationality, among others. We find that well balanced work teams increase group dynamics, creativity, and new approaches to solutions.

We look forward to receiving your application!
Frank Staffas, acting GTM (Global Technology Manager) Technical Support.
